What is a Ghost Toast

Mason Winfield's Ghost Toast is a multilayered evening event set in a historic building, almost always one offering both hospitality and a haunting.

The night always warms up at about 7 with a period of socializing in which guests can mingle and sample some liquid spirits.

The evening commences in earnest at 8 as all guests are encouraged to lift a glass and join the customary toast "To the Spirits" at the end of Mason's short, original invocation.

Following is a short lecture - 45 minutes tops - on some topic in our subject area, "the sacred, the psychic, the spiritual, the paranormal." It's usually delivered by Mason Winfield, but one or more of his worthy associates often steps in. Reader/investigator Rev. Tim Shaw, astrologer Cassandra Joan, psychic reader Mysha Webber-Eakins, dowser Ray Watson and author/researchers Rob Lockhart and John Koerner have all given talks in the "Ghost Toast" series.

By 9 guests are free to move on to other entertainment, which might include:

  • other talks and lectures
  • private psychic readings with some of Mason's spiritual friends (by arrangement)
  • tours and "ghost hunts" of the host-building
  • tours of the surrounding village and streets
  • book signings and merchandise sales

Mason's talks are entry-level, lighthearted and informal, but they concentrate a lot of experience and research into manageable packages. Mason has made a professional study of the general paranormal field and focused it upon upstate New York. He has given "Ghost Toast" talks on occult conspiracy, ancient mysteries, alternative religion, Native American supernatural tradition, regional "supernatural history," and a range of topics within the field of psychic experience and research. Usually accompanied by a power-point presentation, Mason's talks give you something to look at as well as think about.

We've done Ghost Toasts at several classic sites in Buffalo, as well as ones in Lewiston, East Aurora, Allentown and Angola. As befits the general nature of the paranormal, we have no set schedule as we do with other events like ghost walks, Haunted Pub Crawls, and the MasonWinfield.Com Lecture Series. Someone calls the office about booking Mason for an event, a Ghost Toast gets proposed, and his psychic posse comes along to liven things up.
